It isn’t Christmas in the UK just yet, but for soccer fans in England they may have the same feeling as those down in Whoville did when they found out that the Grinch had descended on their town to steal Christmas after last week’s results. While club play is a completely different feeling, two key teams from the English Premier League’s Champions League contingent were eliminated this past Wednesday with both Manchester United and Manchester City falling in the group stage. Those sports betting results have left both clubs with their prime focus being their league table, with City leading heading in to this Monday’s game against Chelsea.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City

Monday December 12, 2011 – 20:00 Local Time

Stamford Bridge

The countdown is on as manager Andre Villas-Boas looks to prepare his starting 11 for a crucial matchup against City, which already hold a 10-point advantage in the overall table. United and Tottenham sit between the two, but Villas-Boas still feels as though his team is capable of challenging for that top spot. Chelsea won’t have it easy against the incredible wealth of talent that City manager Roberto Mancini has at his disposal, especially considering that Sergio Aguero and David Silva look to be in top form. While Edin Dzeko is another key contributor that should see time, the jury is out on whether Mancini will risk using the always-controversial Mario Balotelli for this game in such a crucial situation, and he may be wise to avoid that idea according to the pay head bookies. With the NFL Monday Night Football game such a bore, this could be the perfect solution for those looking for a different type of football excitement.

Premier League Betting Pick: Draw

While it is still relatively early in the English Premier League season, there are valuable points to be won this weekend as Manchester United clashes with Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the sportsbook reviews match of the weekend. Manchester United has won three straight following its first loss of the season, and will look to continue their run against a tough Magpies unit on their own home soil with the support of their crowd.

Newcastle is feeling its own sports betting strain after a tough loss to Manchester City prevented them from advancing ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur. The Magpies watched as City striker Mario Balotelli walked to the penalty spot and delivered the game-winning goal, ending their undefeated run and leaving a stunned reaction across the faces of a stellar defense that finally showed some cracks against the overwhelming offense of the top team in the table. Manchester United fans can relate to the feeling of losing to City, who have been on an absolute tear in the Premier League and will be tough to stop with so much firepower up front. Points at the top of the table will be crucial for both of these teams if they are going to have any chance of remaining in contention for first place, and while United can close the gap between them and City with a win, Newcastle will be in tough to avoid falling into a group that includes Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal right behind them at 22 pay head points each.

All eyes will be on the Etihad Stadium this Saturday for the Premier League matchup between points leader Manchester City and Newcastle United. City has taken a marginal sports betting lead in the standings with 31 points, five points ahead of second-place Manchester United. Newcastle United isn’t far behind at 25 points,

Manchester City vs. Newcastle United

Saturday, 15:00 – The Etihad Stadium

The Premier League leaders have clinched maximum pay head points in five home games this season, and Newcastle will be in touch to slow them down in their home stadium. The Magpies are undefeated on the road this season with three wins and two draws, but this will be an entirely different territory for a team that will play consecutive games against the top two teams in the standings, a portion of their schedule that will go a long way in determining the potential success of their season. The biggest problem with slowing down City is their wealth of talent at the striker position, with three starting caliber scorers that all have different strengths and styles. Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero rank second and third respectively in goals scored with 10 and 9, while Mario Balotelli has also been a force for manager Roberto Mancini’s side this season with five in the EPL. Newcastle will rely on leading scorer Demba Ba among others to keep this one close, but in the end Manchester City may simply have just too much intertops power to hold them down.

Premier League Betting Pick: Manchester City

Nearly everything has gone as expected to this point in the Barclay’s Premier League season, with the defending champion Manchester United once again within striking distance of the top of the table through nine games players, and looking to make their move to the front of the pack on schedule. United trails rival Manchester City by five points through the same amount of matches, and as always in the world’s most exciting league, there is little sports betting room for error at the top as they prepare for their next contest against Everton.

Everton V. Manchester United

Saturday, 7:00 AM ET

For as good as United has played this intertops season, the club cannot continue to leave points on the table away from home, a small problem that has made the difference between them and City so far. While they have done well to go 4-1-0 at home, United is just 2-0-2. This Saturday’s match represents the perfect opportunity for Wayne Rooney and company to get back on track against an Everton squad that has really struggled out of the gate. It is still early, but the fact that the host team for this weekend’s contest has captured maximum points at home just once through four tries has to be somewhat of a concern, especially considering their position near the bottom of the pay head table. Rooney and the boys won’t be a welcome sight at

It doesn’t come as a surprise to many that both United and City represent Manchester in the top two spots of the table, but where Chelsea and Newcastle figure in to this equation has been among the most debated topics this sports betting season. All four of those teams are on the pitch again this sports betting weekend, but perhaps its United that has the toughest matchup of them all.

Liverpool V. Manchester United

Saturday, 12:45

United’s unbeaten record will be put to the test by their arch-rivals from Liverpool, with the chance for manager Kenny Dalgish’s side to narrow the gap between the two sides to just a single victory. Manchester United has dominated early on with six wins and only a single draw through seven starts, and their plus-19 goal differential is at least double of what any team other than Manchester City has been able to render to this point. Striker Wayne Rooney is responsible for slightly less than half of those tallies, but the underdogs are hoping that Luis Suarez and company can provide a legitimate sports betting bonus opposition.

EPL Betting Pick: Draw

Chelsea V. Everton

Saturday, 17:30

Stamford Bridge will come alive once again this Saturday as the home fans look to cheer on their side to a fourth consecutive win as the host side to open the EPL season. Chelsea supporters have watched Everton slide through three straight losses, and must already have the blueprint for how to win another crucial pay head game that they simply can’t afford to let get away.

Top EPL Transfer Moves This Season

| September 12, 2011 | In English Premier Comments Off

Sports betting enthusiasts from across the world, have witnessed pure domination by several of the English Premier Leagues top teams over their peers in recent weeks. The emergence of Manchester City as a legitimate powerhouse in 2011-12 fishing games can be attributed, to a slew of transfer moves this summer. With a title possibly on the horizon for Manchester City, here is a look at some of the top transfer moves thus far this season.

Sami Nasri Arsenal Gunners to Manchester City – In the second week of the Premier League season, Aresne Wenger the Arsenal manager, shocked Gunner fans by making two expensive yet controversial moves. Firstly, Wenger sold Captain and fan favorite midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona, in exchange for over 31 million pounds. Then if that wasn’t enough, Wenger made a deal with the devil himself, as he and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, worked out a 26 million transfer fee for speedy and youthful midfielder Sami Nasri.

Nasri provides Manchester City, with an elite level pass maker that the city of Manchester literally hasn’t seen, since David Beckham played for Manchester United in the beginning of the decade. Nasri’s soccer IQ has paid off short term, as City is averaging roughly three goals a game, while going undefeated in their first four matches.

Kieron Dyer West Ham United to Queens Park Rangers – The 2011 – 12 season, also marked the return of the Queens Park Rangers to the top flight of British soccer. QPR has had mixed results through its first four games of the season, as the balanced attack from division one, hasn’t been replicated in the EPL. One of QPR’s biggest issues is their transition game, as none of the team’s midfielder’s have been able to set the offense in motion.

Enter Kieron Dyer, a former fan favorite, of former EPL squad West Ham United. Dyer came over to QPR a couple of weeks ago in one of the more underrated transfer moves. Similar to Nasri, Dyer’s ability to transition and take over games with his soccer IQ, should help QPR both short and long term.

Fishing games enthusiasts from across the world are beginning to focus on the English Premier League after an amazing first month of the season. With roughly seven months remaining in the 2011- 12 seasons, bettors and fans alike can already say that the Premier League Title, will stay in Manchester. This year, both sports betting Evil Empire Manchester United and intercity rival Manchester City have shown early signs of belonging at the top flight. Here is a recap of the first month.

Similar to the MLB in the United States, the EPL is one of the only sports leagues, where a salary cap does not apply. As a result, the general belief amongst casual soccer fans is that the good teams remain good because of their budgets, as opposed to developing talent.

Essentially ever since the English Premier League was founded in the early 1990s, the Manchester United Red Devils have been at the top of the Premier League standings. Having won more awards and titles then any other team in the league, Manchester United has become one of the best, yet also one of the youngest teams heading into this season. Led by 25-year-old striker Wayne Rooney, Manchester United only has two players over the age of 30.

On the other hand, Manchester City has struggled over the last few years, heading into this season. Slowly putting together a star-studded club of their own, City appears destined for big things this season. Led by striker Edward Dzeko, City also has a young core in place this year.

Through the first three weeks of the season, both United and City are undefeated. Yesterday, City led by Dzeko and his four goals, defeated Tottenham Hotspur five to one. In order to tie City for the lead, Manchester United needed a big game of their own against long time rivals the Arsenal Gunners. As a result, Wayne Rooney scored three of United’s eight goals, in an eight to two romp. With the talent pools of both Manchester teams, would it really be a surprise if the EPL crown did not leave Manchester this season?

After stumbling out of the sports betting soccer gate with an underwhelming zero to zero draw with Stoke City on Sunday, expectations amongst Chelsea Blues followers are mixed. On the one hand, many Chelsea followers feel that the current veteran lineup is good enough to win another EPL title. Conversely, many MLB betting soccer fans, are just hoping that new Chelsea manager 33 year old Andre Villa-Boas, can help the Blues get over the blues. Here is a preview of Chelsea Blues for 2011 – 12 seasons.

In the world of sports, it has been a rare site to see one team have a long reign atop a specific leagues standings. For the English Premier League in particular, aside from Manchester United, there has been a revolving door of good teams, but none that you could truly call a dynasty. That was until a few years ago, when the Chelsea Blues went from a rebuilding team to a return to the top of the Premier League. The Blues won the EPL title in 2009 – 10, but last season couldn’t get over the victory blues, and were unable to win consecutive titles.

As a result of being a one hit wonder, many fans and analysts alike felt, that heading into this season, the veteran lineup fielded by Chelsea the last couple of years, needs to get off to a hot start or they will need to rebuild. Instead, the Blues were lucky to reach a draw with Stoke City in the opening fixture of the 2011 – 12 seasons.

Chelsea is led by the inconsistent duo of Didier Drogba and Fernando Torres. Both strikers can be game breakers, as they guide Chelsea atop the standings. But at the same time, both are very streaky, which leads to massive goalless droughts for Chelsea as a whole. Further, Chelsea has odds of 11 to four to win the Premier League, but after their first game tie with Stoke City, those odds should be adjusted rather quickly.

Manchester United Season Preview

| August 1, 2011 | In English Premier Comments Off

Known by many as the soccer betting version of the Evil Empire from Star Wars, the Manchester United Red Devils will be entering their 20th season in the English Premier League in late August. Last season, would have been considered by any other Premier League team, to have been a dream season of sorts. However, for the Red Devils, and their sports betting fans, the 2010 – 11 seasons, couldn’t be forgotten quick enough. Here is a preview of the upcoming campaign for one of the best teams in the history of sports.

Led by Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez, the current group of Manchester United Red Devils stars, appear to be in a class all by themselves. Despite winning the EPL title for this past season, Manchester United fans still have the bitter taste of defeat in their mouths, after being embarrassed by Barcelona FC in the Champions League finals in May.

Out with the old and in with the new is mantra for the 2011 – 12 Manchester United Red Devils, as Edwin Van Der Sar, Paul Scholes, Bebe, Owen Hargreaves, John O’Shea and Wes Brown are all gone. In their place, will be new recruits, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, and David de Gea. However, United still lacks that true midfield general that every star team covets. Meaning to say, if United gets off to a slow start with the new look team, fans should expect nothing less, than manager Alex Ferguson contacting his favorite rival, Arsene Wenger about a deal, for Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas.

As we noted earlier, Manchester United is in a class to themselves. Essentially, what we mean is that the Red Devils are at such a strong point as a football firm, that they no longer are satisfied with simple goals like winning the EPL. Instead, heading into the 2011 – 12 seasons, if Manchester United is unable to win not only the EPL title, but the Champions League title, fans may call for Ferguson to step down.
